Fort
Findlay, 1812 South from River
This depiction of Fort Findlay is
probably as close as possible to what the fort actually looked like. It was
made from a sketch by Dr. A.M. Linaweaver in 1879 who had a Findlay pioneer,
Squire Carlin, to describe the fort to him. Squire Carlin told Linaweaver that
he had seen the fort in 1814 when it was occupied with soldiers and again in
1815 when it was abandoned. (text from the Findlay
Courier--October 24, 1985)
