Friends of the Library

Who We Are

The Friends of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Library and its relationship to the community.

The Friends are enthusiastic supporters united by a common concern for the well-being of the Library.

The activities of the Friends are managed and directed by a Board of Trustees.

Donations are also most welcome to the Friends of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library Fund at The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.

Why You Should Be A Friend
Your contribution of time and money not only benefits the Library but also your community!

You will be invited to a special preview sale for members only during our annual book sale.

You will be given advance notice of upcoming Friends' events and receive our newsletter.

Your annual membership dues and gifts are tax deductible.

The Friends of the Library own and maintain two coin-operated copy machines that also generate money for the Library.

What We Do
Our Friends help promote the Library, develop activities, present special programs, and encourage reading and use of the Library.

We sponsor special Library programs, staff development and staff recognition.

We raise funds through membership dollars and gifts, sales in the Book Cellar, and proceeds from the Library's copy machines.

We manage and staff the Book Cellar where we sell gently used books and audio-visual materials.

The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation
Many years ago, the Friends of the Library contributed $10,000 to The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation (TCF), a fund that has grown considerably since that time through appreciation and further donations from patrons.
These funds allow TCF  to meet the changing needs of our community by supporting programs that may solve a crucial problem or fill a gap in existing services. TCF is a publicly supported, tax-exempt corporation; all gifts are tax deductible. Please consider contributing to the Friends endowment fund and put a lasting personal imprint on your community.
