Each month we will have a new take home kit with the spices and herbs youll need to make a different recipe from around the world. This month we are making vegan shepherd's pie, a plant-based recipe, to celebrate Earth Day. The kits will be available to pick up

Read for Life will be offering a tutor training class! Potential adult volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and are asked to commit to one year or more of volunteering. Volunteers must be literate, however, no professional training or education is required. Read for Life is looking for volunteers to teach reading, writing, English, life skills and subject areas of the High School Equivalency including math, social studies, and science. Registration is required by calling 419-422-3755 or e-mailing readforlife@findlaylibrary.org.

Meal prepping is the concept of preparing whole meals or dishes ahead of schedule. Despite what people may think, there are various ways to meal prep-not all of which involve spending a whole afternoon cooking. Kirsten Seele, dietitian at Northwest Ohio Orthopedics, will be here to lead the discussion.

Community Connections

At the time of the Civil War, the world of health care was about to be overturned. A discipline which had been based on folklore and magic was about to begin the switch to science-based medicine. Come and learn about this fascinating time in medical history. This program puts the healthcare of Civil War soldiers into perspective and explores the economic realities that played a role in battle deaths.

Bring in your gently used (or never got around to using) art and craft supplies for others to be able to create with! Drop them at the reference desk or the book donation areas. Items must be clean and in good condition. Any remaining supplies after the swap will be donated to the library and local donation centers.
