SummerREAD Program 2018

Libraries Rock!  Participants of all ages are invited to make reading a special part of their summer by joining the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library 2018 SummerRead program.  The SummerRead activities will revolve around the music theme: LIBRARIES ROCK.  Events to be held throughout the summer will include programs and prizes for children, teens and adults.   SummerRead begins June 1 and will run through July 28.  The SummerREAD kick-off was held on Monday, June 4th.  Over 1,000 adults, children and teens are already signed up.           A special event featuring, Jim Criuse, the “Spoon Man” will be held on June 20 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The Spoon Man made it to the second round on the hit show, America’s Got Talent.  His show,  “Catch the Rhythm of Reading” will be held under the skylight in the Adult Services Department. The Spoon Man will perform with household tablespoons with a sing-a-long competition, rock-n-roll and rap music impressions.  He will challenge students to read 15 minutes per day and will include audience participation in this exciting, wholesome family program.  
   The Ohio SummerRead Program is a statewide effort by local library systems to promote reading to citizens of all ages.
