FHCPL welcomes member of the public to its annual members-only genealogy lock-in on Friday, September 22, from 5-9 p.m. at the library. Participants should arrive before 5 p.m. and park along Broadway or in the parking lot (the underground parking garage closes at 5 p.m.) Staff and volunteers will be available to assist with research, and participants may bring an optional brown bag supper. Children and teens are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult. Registration is required, and participants may register at the library's Reference Desk or by calling 419-422-1712.
What's In Your Grocery Cart? Peggy Meents, OSU Extension, will examine common grocery store items and challenge participants to put healthy and well-balanced items into their grocery cart. Recipes using cauliflower rice will be sampled and information on pantry staples will be provided. Registration is required.
Read for L.I.F.E. will be offering a tutor training class on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Lindamood Room. Potential adult volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and are asked to commit to one year or more of volunteering. Volunteers must be literate, however, no professional training or education is required. Read for L.I.F.E. is looking for volunteers to teach reading, writing, English, life skills and subject areas of the GED including math, social studies, and science.
