Resources in the Library
One of the guiding principles of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is that the library should serve as a central source of information about the wide variety of programs, services, and activities provided by local community organizations. In short, the library is a local information headquarters. We have taken several steps to provide a variety of means to get this information circulated to the community.
- Community Bulletin Board: We welcome flyers and brochures from local organizations, agencies, government entities, and community activities to be placed in the hallway leading to our Media Services Department. Please contact the Circulation Services Manager, Kayleen Veit at 419-434-1485 for posting your information.
- Training about Community Organizations: Library staff training regularly includes presentations about local non-profit organizations, so that staff can share information about local resources with patrons as appropriate.
- Community Displays: In our atrium, there is a space dedicated to local non-profit organizations to display information about their services to the citizens of Hancock County. Please contact our Community Relations Coordinator, Heather Rhoads to reserve a time to display information about your non-profit agency at 419-434-1480.
Resources in the Community
Hancock Helps is a project sponsored by the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. The website contains a list of emergency phone numbers for Hancock County and a comprehensive resource guide for any type of assistance needed in Hancock County. The resource guide has contact information for help with mental health services, substance abuse issues, food security, housing needs, transportation, veteran's services, healthcare, and many more areas of assistance. Visit Findlay is the website for the Hancock County Convention & Visitor's Bureau. Find out what's going on and join in the fun! They also offer hospitality services and meeting and event resources.
The library is a distributor of Federal and City tax forms. Due to reductions from the State of Ohio Department of Taxation, State forms are no longer available for free at the library. If you wish to have them printed, we will happily assist you. Information is available HERE from the State of Ohio on electronic filing.
You can register to vote at the library. Please ask for help at the Circulation desk or the Adult Services desk. You must register or update your voter registration no later than 30 days prior to an election. The deadlines for 2024 are as follows:
February 20: Deadline for voter registration for March 19 presidential primary election.
Deadline for voter registration for August 6 special election.
October 7: Deadline for voter registration for November 5 general election.
